Flushing radiator coolant made easy

At Al Jalahma Est. we deal in world class radiator coolants and associated auto fluids to help keep your vehicle maintained and running in good order
Vehicle maintenance is an important aspect of vehicle ownership. Timely maintenance will ensure that your vehicle is always in good running condition. Timely maintenance will also help you to recognize any underlying problems beforehand, thus allowing you to have them fixed in time. This will effectively prevent you from being stranded on the side of the road, waiting for help to arrive because your car broke down.
One of the most overlooked aspect of vehicle maintenance is replacement of radiator coolant. Like all other fluids in the vehicle, the radiator coolant also has to be changed at timely intervals to ensure its optimal functionality. The coolant, like the name suggests, is responsible for keeping the engine form overheating. Failing to replace spent coolant fluid will result in inefficient cooling, which will result in engine failure. Here are a few tips to make it easy to replace the coolant fluid-
·         Make sure that the engine is cool, i.e, the vehicle hasn’t’ been running. This will ensure that the radiator is cool enough to work on.
·         Remove the radiator cap and locate the drain valve. You can now drain the radiator fluid into a container. Next, close the drain valve securely.
·         The next step is to install a back flush kit. This specialized equipment will ensure that any remaining traces of old coolant is successfully flushed out from the system. Make sure to clamp the fixtures and nozzles securely to prevent any leakages.
·         Once the radiator has been flushed, you can then top the empty radiator with fresh coolant. Make sure to use the kind of coolant that is recommended by the manufacturer, in order to retain the warranty and to ensure optimal functionality of the radiator. Depending on where you live, you might also have to add antifreeze to the coolant to prevent it from freezing during the cold months.
·         Once you have topped up the radiator with the appropriate fluids, you should turn on the engine and take the car for a spin to ensure an even distribution of the coolant throughout the radiator.
